Week 2 Wednesday SOAP: Jehovah Rohi

S- (NKJV) He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arms, and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young.

O- Jesus will take good care of me holding me close to His heart and will lead me.

A- I love how God knew I was going to need a shepherd to take care of me in this world. That even when He knew we were ugly sinners He still wanted to protect us and guide us. Now that’s LOVE! He sent His only son to save us and love us, He sent Him to be my Good Shepherd. Knowing that sheep have to totally rely on the shepherd to survive, I too need to totally rely on Jesus my Good Shepherd to survive. Jesus feeds me, just like a shepherd feeds his flock with loving care. I belong to Jesus and I need Him to lead me and direct me or I will perish. When I get tangled up in this world of sinner web, My Good Shepherd rescues me. When I fall over and can’t get up, He comes and helps me up. When I get lost, because our flesh doesn’t always pay attention to where I'm going, Jesus will go looking for me. When I need protection Jesus uses His rod and staff to fight off whatever is threating me. When I'm in trouble or scared, He will comfort me. He knows me by name and knows everything about me. He knows what I sound like. He knows by the way I cry if I'm in trouble, or lost, or sick. He knows everything about me and loves me just the way I am, the bad things and all. He knows when I am sad, happy, or lonely. He carries me close to His heart, a safe and tender place. There is no other love like the love of Jesus my Good Shepherd.

P- Father, thank you for being my Good Shepherd. Thank you for protecting me, guiding me, and dying on the cross so that I might be saved. Forgive me if I don’t always follow You. Keep me on the right paths and show me the way You would like me to go. In Jesus name, Amen
