Week 1: Jehovah-Jireh is on of many of Gods name meaning "The Lord will provide"
We will be studying on the name Jehovah-Jireh this week and seeing how The Lord provides for us all.
Good morning Ladies,
Happy Monday! Below is the verse to memorize this week. The way I do it is write the verse on paper three times, each time trying to remember it. Then I post it on my computer desk and read it through out the day. Then I write it three times every day the rest of the week and by Wednesday I got it memorized.
I usually study out of the NKJV and the journal uses ESV. Not sure which bible everyone uses, but feel free to use which ever you feel comfortable with. I will try to stick to ESV since the journal uses it, but I might once in a while use the verses out of NKJV. I will note them as I write them out which one I pulled the verse from. Let me know if you have questions on this.
Memory Verse
Monday Week 1 read Genesis 22:9-14

S=Scripture: (in your journals write out the verse, you will see how it makes a big difference from just reading it)
13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called the name of that place, “The Lord will provide”;[a] as it is said to this day, “On the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
O=Observations:
- God instructed Abraham to sacrifice what he love the most, his only son Issac
- God provided an alternative "the ram" to sacrifice instead of his son Issac because Abraham even not understanding why, was willing to trust God enough to do it. So God provided. Jehovah-Jireh meaning "The Lord will provide" He was Jehovah-Jireh that day for Abraham
A=Applications:
God calls me to sacrifice in my heart what I love most, things that I put before God. And when I do, He will provide for me what I need. Sometimes I am to attached to things or people and I have my priorities wrong and when I put those things and people before God, I create a stumbling stone and create a path of failure with drama and unnecessary things. God says, TRUST ME and what ever you give up for Me, I will bless you abundantly. I need to put God first in all I do and trust in His name Jehovah-Jireh "The Lord will provide". Trust that He will provide me with all that I need, nothing more and nothing less. I need to take God at His word and trust Him as Abraham did even when i don't understand.
P=Prayer:
Father God, I come to You in Jesus name and I ask Lord that you reveal to me the things and people who I put before you. Help me to see and know when i fall into worldly things that hold me back from giving you my all. Just as Abraham trusted you, I too want to trust you with everything that comes my way. My heart belongs to you Father God, show me where I need to change to love you as much as you love me. In Jesus name, Amen

God is my provider for all in my life, I need to start to hold that dear and close when things don't go my way and I get worried, I need to remember He will provide exactly what I need when I need it and if I don't get what I personally need, its because God feels I don't need it and has something else for me.
ReplyDeleteToday the Lord provided me with great patience. He held my hand and gave me patience. He entered my heart when I felt frustration. He also spoke to me through you! Because today you walked me through this when I thought there was no possibility or time. Today I put the Lord first through you.
ReplyDeletePhilippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
